Guaranteed 3-day subsidised care for your family

From January 2026, all CCS-eligible families will receive at least 72 hours of subsidised early learning per fortnight – no matter how many hours you work or study. That’s a guaranteed three days of care per week, giving you more certainty and support.

All CCS-approved families earning under $535,279 per year will receive the guaranteed 72 subsidised hours. If you’re already approved for more hours, you’ll keep them – the guarantee simply ensures no family falls below three days per week.

Savings depend on your CCS percentage and income level. For many families, the change could mean an extra $200 – $230 per week back in your pocket, which adds up to more than $10,000 a year in reduced fees (subject to sessions of care and CCS percentage).

The 3 Day Guarantee begins on 5 January 2026 and will apply automatically to CCS-eligible families.

No – if you already receive CCS, the guarantee will apply automatically. There’s no paperwork needed to access the new minimum subsidised hours.

Some families will still be eligible for up to 100 hours per fortnight (around five days), depending on activity levels or exemptions. First Nations families automatically receive the higher 100-hour entitlement.

The guarantee applies nationally, but each centre sets its own enrolment process and availability. Places will still be limited depending on demand.
