Located in the heart of Sydney’s Inner West, a short walk from the local train station and primary school, our Canterbury Childcare Centre delivers an engaging, educational experience in a stimulating environment designed to enrich the development of children from six weeks to six years old.
Each spacious room at our Canterbury childcare centre features carefully selected resources and learning spaces to encourage play, social interaction, and physical and cognitive development – all while having fun.
The generous outdoor zones of our Canterbury preschool invite children to explore the outdoor learning environment, as well as provide plenty of space to play sports and games and take part in learning experiences inspired by nature.
At our Canterbury childcare centre, your children benefit from a combination of planned learning experiences, time to use their imagination, and build upon their individual interests. Popular features in the outdoor learning environment include a rock-climbing wall to help develop coordination, three large sandpits for sensory play, and a bike track allowing children to build their gross motor skills.
Children up to age three participate in the tailored Evolution Program, while those between three and five join the Transition to School Program at our Canterbury childcare centre.
A menu of five tasty, nutritious meals and snacks prepared by our in-house cook is included daily, and children look forward to enjoying mealtimes with their friends and educators.
All nappies and wipes are included. Cot linen provided (excludes stretcher bed linen).

Karolien is the dedicated Childcare & Early Learning Centre Manager at Canterbury, where she has been a cherished member of the team for nearly five years. With a robust background in early childhood education spanning over nine years, Karolien brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for nurturing children.
Karolien’s journey into the early childhood sector began in her own childhood, growing up with a mother who ran a family day care. This early exposure to the world of childcare ignited a lifelong love for working with children. She is known for creating fun, engaging, and meaningful experiences for the children in her care, with a particular focus on celebrating and integrating diverse cultural backgrounds, including a special emphasis on Aboriginal culture.
What Karolien loves most about working in the Canterbury community is its vibrant diversity. She appreciates the opportunity to immerse herself in the rich cultures of the community and values the strong, familial relationships she has built with the families and children she serves.
Under Karolien’s leadership, Canterbury has become a beloved centre known for its fun, lively, and warm environment. The centre’s consistent staff and the strong relationships formed are a testament to Karolien’s dedication and commitment to excellence in early childhood education.
