Young Academics Woodcroft Celebrates “Exceeding NQS” Rating – Again!

Exceeding NQS

Young Academics Early Learning Centre Woodcroft has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to early childhood excellence, achieving an Overall Rating of “Exceeding NQS” for the second time in a row, as assessed under Australia’s National Quality Framework (NQF).

The Woodcroft centre first reached this prestigious milestone in 2017, and after years of continuous dedication and quality improvement, was once again rated Exceeding NQS in May 2023.

The National Quality Standard (NQS) sets a high benchmark for early childhood education and care services across Australia. Services are rated across seven key quality areas, which include educational programs, children’s health and safety, physical environment, staffing, relationships with children, partnerships with families and communities, and leadership and governance.

To achieve a rating of “Exceeding NQS,” a service must go above and beyond in at least four of the seven quality areas, consistently demonstrating exemplary practice and innovation that enhances outcomes for children.

A Journey of Excellence and Continuous Growth

Young Academics Woodcroft’s achievement is the result of a strong team ethos, child-centred programming, and a culture of reflective practice. From innovative learning environments to nurturing relationships with families and the local community, the centre’s holistic approach underpins every aspect of its operations.

Centre Manager Asima expressed pride in the centre’s journey and the dedication of her team:

“Receiving the ‘Exceeding NQS’ rating for the second time is a testament to the dedication and passion of our team. It means we’ve maintained high standards of care and education and built a solid foundation of trust with our families. Our key strengths include collaborative teamwork, ongoing professional development, and strong partnerships with families. Since 2017, we’ve grown through reflection, professional growth, and adapting to new challenges, always focused on providing a high-quality, child-centred experience every day.”

The recognition is a testament not only to the passion of the educators at Woodcroft but also to the wider Young Academics network’s support and commitment to professional development and high-quality care.

Young Academics Director of Operations Jenni Gaffney also shared her thoughts on this milestone.

“This accomplishment reflects the team’s dedication, hard work, and commitment to providing exceptional care and education.  The teamwork and passion are truly inspiring, and this recognition is a testament to the positive impact the team have on the children and families in care.”

Looking to the Future

While this recognition marks a proud moment, the team at Woodcroft is already looking ahead. Asima and her educators remain focused on continuous improvement and further enriching children’s learning experiences, in line with Young Academics’ core philosophy of nurture, play, grow.

Congratulations to the entire Woodcroft team on this outstanding achievement—proof that with passion, purpose, and partnership, excellence in early learning is more than possible—it’s a reality.
