This IWD, we chose to challenge

Youngacademics, 15 Mar 2021

This International Women’s Day, we stood in solidarity with the local community to help make a difference to women in need. Across our centres we held a drive, with health, sanitary and hygiene items generously donated by parents/guardians of Young Academics Early Learning Centre, as well as educators.

The donated items were distributed amongst Penrith Women’s Health Centre, Mama Lana’s, Blacktown Women’s and Girls Shelter, The Sanctuary Shelter, Wash House and Share the Dignity.

Giving back opens our hearts and minds to humanity, and creates a sense of hope and purpose. With community at our core, it is fundamental to our philosophy to contribute to building an ever-more connected world, and a world where one feels valued, loved and that they belong. This initiative stems from a cause close to our heart, and while International Women’s Day is held annually, we celebrate its meaning daily.

Thank you to all who willingly took part in this drive and the shelters and charity organisations who do their part every day to bring hope where this despair.

“From challenge comes change, so let's all choose to challenge.”
