At Young Academics Hoxton Park, we believe in leading by example and our Centre Manager recently did just that by bravely participating in the World’s Greatest Shave to support the Leukaemia Foundation.
In front of smiling children, supportive families, and her proud team, our amazing Centre Manager at Hoxton Park shaved her head to raise funds and awareness for Australians living with blood cancer. This bold and selfless act was not only an incredible way to give back, but also a powerful teaching moment for the children in our care.
Children learn best through real-life experiences, and this event was a beautiful reminder of the power of community, kindness, and empathy. Educators used the opportunity to gently talk to children about helping others, why some people lose their hair, and the importance of supporting those in need. From making posters to cheering on the day, our little learners were fully involved and incredibly inspired.
The community truly came together to support this cause. Local businesses helped with the shave, and families generously donated to the campaign, raising over $5,000. Every dollar is going directly to the Leukaemia Foundation, helping fund vital research and support services for people facing blood cancer.
We’re so proud of our Hoxton Park team and families for getting behind such a meaningful cause.
